My most recent MyMagazine Sharing Network challenge was called Red, White, and Barbecue. For this mission they sent me a free box which contained:
- ONE (1) Free Coupon for McCormick® Grill Mates® Bottle Blend Seasoning, 2.5–3.5 oz.
- ONE (1) Keebler® Chips Deluxe® Cookies, 1 oz. bag
- ONE (1) Lays® Original or Jalapeño Chips
- ONE (1) Kleenex® Wet Wipes, 24 ct.
- NINE (9) Pass-along Coupons
I was excited to get this box because these were all products I had either used in the past or was interested in trying! The goal of this mission was to try all of the samples out at my next backyard bash and then to share my “recipe for success” to throwing a memorable summer get-together.
I have a
bit of massive sweet tooth so basically as soon as I opened the box of goodies I had to break into the Keebler Chips Deluxe.
Keebler Chips Deluxe with M&M’s
I received an individual pack of these cookies but you can buy an 11 oz package of these at Kroger on sale for $2.49. So there’s the age-old debate of which is better; crispy cookies or chewy cookies? I’m the kind of girl who can go either way! If they are fresh-baked I want them chewy. But if they come in a package like this I prefer them crunchy. These certainly did not disappoint. This package contained mini cookies which were just enough for a bite. I found them to have a nice crunch without being dry but also contained an ample amount of chocolate chips and M&Ms. I liked them so much that I ended up going to the store a few days later and buying a Keebler snack pack which contained Cheez Its, Fudge Stripe Cookies (also one of my faves!), and the M&M cookies. I give this sample two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
Lay’s Kettle Cooked Jalapeño Chips
Is it just me or are Kettle Cooked chips the “IT” thing right now? I received an individual package of these chips but you can get a full-size bag for about $2.79 at Kroger. It’s funny that I received this because I had just bought my husband a bag of these the week before! I personally don’t like kettle chips so this wasn’t for me. I prefer a thinner chip. But my husband absolutely loves kettle chips and jalapeño’s so this was the perfect combination for him. I will certainly keep buying this for him.
Kleenex Wet Wipes for Hands and Face
I was definitely interested in trying these guys out! I have a 16 month old who of course is a messy eater. It’s always a challenge to get him cleaned up when we are out to dinner (which is often). A pack of these will set you back $1.79 for a 24-count. We put these to the test when our baby had ravioli for dinner. Ok, it took 5 wipes to get all of the ravioli off of his hands and face–so that’s not ideal. But he was squeaky clean and I felt better about using those on his face than a baby wipe. I can definitely see myself keeping these in my diaper bag.
McCormick Grill Mates Seasoning
For as long as I can remember we have used McCormick’s seasoning packets for marinades. I never knew they came in bottles of seasoning. I tried the Roasted Garlic and Herb. This can be used as a seasoning to shake directly on meat or you can mix it with vinegar and oil to make a marinade. We used it as a marinade and it was perfect on the chicken. This is one of the better Grill Mates flavors I have encountered. I think next time instead of doing a marinade I will just shake the seasoning on so that I can get more of the seasoning flavor!
Since the goal of the challenge was to give you my recipe for success in throwing a backyard bash here it is. I like to say the recipe calls for the four Fs. Family, Friends, Food, and Fun. You don’t need anything more than that.
I would like to say thanks to Kroger and MyMagazine for sending me these free products to try. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I look forward to my next mission!
